SnusBattle is an independent product information and comparison platform. We sell no products and require no registration. We do not ask for names, email addresses or other contact details when you browse or vote.
ParaFlos Holding AB, Stockholm, Sweden. Contact details at the bottom of this page.
We use no advertising or analytics cookies. When you vote, we use one strictly necessary cookie, sb_vid, to keep a stable pseudonymous voting identifier and reduce manipulation. It is signed, cannot be read by JavaScript, is sent only over secure connections and expires after 90 days.
The following is also stored in your browser’s localStorage so the site can function:
| Key | Contents | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
sk_session | Randomly generated fallback id | Supports voting if the server-issued identifier is unavailable |
sk_18 | Yes/no | Remembers that you confirmed being 18 or older |
sk_lang, sk_country | Language and country choice | Shows the site in the right language |
sk_votes, sk_local_ratings | Your voting history | Builds your personal ranking |
The localStorage data and the necessary cookie are removed when you clear this site’s data. Clearing them does not delete votes already stored in our database.
When you vote in a public battle or benchmark, voting data is stored with Supabase:
| Field | Contents |
|---|---|
| winner_id / loser_id | Which two products were compared and which was chosen |
| session | A pseudonymous identifier derived from the necessary voting cookie, or the browser fallback id |
| country | Country derived from request location; your selected country is stored separately as an abuse-prevention signal |
| created_at | Time of the vote |
| technical abuse-prevention data | One-way keyed hashes of IP address, coarse IP network and browser identifier, plus region, referring host and browser language |
| battle impressions | Which product pairs were shown, when they were shown and whether the pair received a vote |
We use the IP address transiently to derive country and one-way keyed hashes, but do not store the raw IP address in our database. Infrastructure providers may process and log IP addresses as part of normal technical and security operations.
We measure visits with Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people use the service and how they find it. It uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. We only see aggregated statistics – page, referring site, country, device type and browser – and cannot link them to you as a person. Vercel Inc. processes this data on our behalf.
Our legal basis is legitimate interest: operating the voting service, producing aggregated rankings and statistics, preventing manipulation and understanding how the service is used. Pseudonymous identifiers and technical hashes are not linked to your name, but may still be personal data under the GDPR.
Votes and associated pseudonymous anti-abuse data are currently retained for as long as the service exists because rankings and integrity checks depend on their history. Data is deleted earlier where required by law or following a valid request when the records can be identified.
Supabase (database, EU region Stockholm) and Vercel (hosting and visitor statistics). We use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, cookie-free visitor statistics (see Visitor statistics above), but no ad networks and no third-party tracking scripts.
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection under the GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise a right. Because voting data is pseudonymous and we collect no account or contact details, we may need information from the same browser to locate relevant records, and in some cases an individual record cannot be identified with certainty.
